Between 1870 and 1924 the Gympie field was a world class, proven gold producing region delivering sensational concentrations of gold and yielding 4 million ounces of gold worth $1.5 billion today. Now, with the advent of high-tech exploration tools and the modern production methods introduced by Gympie Gold Limited, the field is again on the way to international fame.
