We originally fell in love with
Scottish Fold cats 15years ago when we adopted our first kitten, Adrian, (a.k.a. "Baby-Kitty"). One year later we adopted
another Scottish Fold named Tessa. The following year we adopted yet another
Scottish Fold named Baxter. Finding ourselves with three of these
amazing cats we decided to adopt a completely different breed of cat into our
family, an Ocicat, who we named Seurat (pronounced "Sir Ot", after
the famous French artist who painted with dots!). Our hope was that the energetic
Ocicat would give our Scottish Folds some entertainment/exercise,
because of their easy going personality, they were becoming "speed bumps
with fur"!
A couple of years later, again,
feeling the need for some new family members, we decided that since we loved
the Scottish Fold breed so much we should look for a breeding pair. We
researched extensively for a pair that met our criteria. Eventually, we
chose the Champion Foldilock's Xand'ear of PenFold (pronounced Zan-der) for
our folded ear stud, and Owhl's Satisfaction Guaranteed
of Penfold (we call her Sassy)
for our straight ear queen. The only problem that we have encountered since becoming a
cattery is that we tend to want keep too many of the kittens!
Our cattery is not our
occupation, we are professional jewelers by trade, the cattery is our labor of
love. Here at PenFold we absolutely love what we do, and take great pride in
knowing that our champion cats and kittens are healthy, extremely well cared
for and most of all loved. Our kittens are raised "underfoot" in our
home, and never caged. As you can imagine its pretty lively around here, and
we wouldn't have it any other way!
