Casting Preparation
|
Final stone fitting and adjustments to wax,
This step is extremely tedious and on most cases actually takes more time
than the initial wax design. Approximately 1 -2 full days of Penny
time. |

Investing, Burnout, and Casting
|
The waxes are places into a plaster of paris type material,
which is allowed to harden. This "investment" is places in a
industrial furnace for 12-16 hours which burns out the wax designs and
leaves hollow voids in the investment. Following this
"burnout" the hollows voids are filled with molten gold. |

Rough Out and Pre-polishing

Removal of surface "skin"
and spru on cast
pieces in preparation for primary polishing. |

Primary Polishing
|
Removal of major surface imperfections. |

Melee Diamond Setting
|
Small, diamonds in channels are set. |

Inlaying

Setting Major Gemstone/Diamond

A highly specialized type of polishing that places the mirror finishes

Secondary Polishing

A light overall polishing to remove any
tool marks created during the setting process. |
