About 6 years ago I found a manufacturer of acrylic who was able to coat the surfaces of the acrylic with a special scratch resistant compound.  The result of this coating is a transparent acrylic that is over half the weight of glass, yet is almost as resistant to scratching as glass. We call this special acrylic "Display Acrylic".  The webbing, or clouding that regular acrylic and/or Plexiglas shows after only a couple of uses do not happen with this Display Acrylic.  Other benefits of our Display Acrylic:

• Can be cleaned with any commercial glass cleaner
• Less than half the weight of glass.
• Will not break or shatter like glass
• Does not web/cloud up from tiny scratches
• Can be cut to any shape
• Available in standard 1/4", 3/16", & 1/8" thicknesses.
